Listening With . . . Robin Sloan Writer San Francisco, CA Listeners to the audiobook version of Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, a literary mystery in which the lowly book is pitted against the Goliath of technology and bookstore patrons are on a quest to crack the code of immortality, can look forward to their own audio-only clue. "Every format has its own special strengths, its own unique charms," author Robin Sloan tells us. "I actually pay homage to the virtues of the audiobook in the plot—and working with the Macmillan audio team, I threw in a few surprises for careful listeners, too." Surprises such as the fact that Sloan himself narrates the production's audiobook-within-the-audiobook. Just another reason to love listening. —Jennifer M.
