As a librarian and book lover of the audiophile persuasion, I'm hooked on great narrators who bring romance, historical fiction, mysteries, and history to life. Sound effects are always welcome. David A. Walton (D.A.W.) I've been a writer and reviewer for AudioFile since the choices were between tape cassettes and CDs; as a teacher of literature and com- position, I was drawn to the live readings of contemporary poets, and to the then-growing catalog of great literature on audio. In retirement I favor history and biography, and luxuriate in an age of great narrative histories and gifted narrators. My favorites of all time? Unquestionably Nadia May's reading of Barbara Tuchman's The Guns of August and Tristan Layton's of Ross King's The Judgment of Paris. Looking for- ward to: Victorious Century, David Cannadine's history of Britain in the nineteenth century. C.B.L. Candace B. Levy, Editor, PA C.G. Carrie Griffin, Writer, PA C.S.
