"I've been listening to audiobooks ever since I started painting consistently, so I'd say for the last 30 years or more," designer Angela Adams tells us. "And the studio is really where I listen the most." Angela is a fan of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series ("the Lyra books," as she calls them), as well as the Harry Potter series. "I definitely like sci-fi, and Jules Verne is also a big favorite—I've listened to pretty much everything I can." Including Journey to the Center of the Earth, which she listened to while she was designing her "Cave Fantasy" collection of handmade modern area rugs. "What I like about Verne and Pullman is that they're so imaginative and visual that it's super inspiring."—Jennifer M. Dowell Angela Adams Designer, Portland, Maine " The studio is really where I listen the most." Listening With . . . Photo by Kevin Brusie 72 n AudioFile/www.audiofilemagazine.com
