Author Elizabeth Berg has a double chance of connecting with her readers—as author, and as narrator. "I think I would write whether it got published or not, but I guess the reason I publish is to reach people. So any evidence I get that that's hap- pening is really gratifying. I love to have readers tell me, 'I get it,' whether it's the book or the audiobook." Berg started her narrating career with her 2008 novel We Are All Welcome Here. "With a couple of exceptions," she says, "I've pretty much been recording my own books ever since." Her latest is Night of Miracles (see review on page 23)— and when we spoke, she'd just sent off her manuscript for its sequel, The Confession Club. We hope she'll be the warm voice behind that audio- book, too.—Jennifer M.
