After time spent recently with my grandson, Dr. Seuss and his rhythms and rhymes are in my head (and will be in yours if you listen to the audiobook narrated by John Lithgow). Summer is a great time for family listening, and in this issue, we feature another guru of children's books, LeVar Burton, whose iconic "Reading Rainbow" has been a beacon for children and educators for years. LeVar talks about meeting and working with Fred Rogers, and his pleasure in narrating Maxwell King's much-anticipated biography: The Good Neighbor: The Life and Work of Fred Rogers. We're excited to have both the print excerpt of our interview here (page 22) and the full audio conversation with LeVar available to you on our podcast hosted by Contributing Editor Jo Reed (see link below). So much travel takes place during summer months—it's high season for audiobooks of all sorts. As always, we have plenty of great suggestions for your listening queue. In addition to the magazine, every week our newsletters and AudioFile's blog add more suggestions of worthy titles for a range of interests. We are never short of ideas to help you find your next great listen! As important as the many places you can go with audiobooks are the many places that audiobooks take you. Worlds open up: the fantastical and mythical—Akata Witch (see page 56); the ancient and historical—The Last Watchman of Old Cairo (see page 35). We visit not just places in the world—Burgundy in The Lost Vintage (see page 38); The Widows of Malabar Hill (see page 39)—but also places in history—Black Tudors (see page 24). Oh yes, the places you can go. In my blog post in Robin's Roundup a few weeks ago, I envisioned a magic carpet—à la The Arabian Nights. Grab your earphones and jump on board!
